Getting Organized

was not what I planned to do today but am so glad it is done! Hubby and I went shopping at the local Walmart today and as I was looking around the kitchen items I found this cool spice rack and some pantry jars. The jars come in three different sizes and have a brushed aluminum looking lid. I just may paint the lids black and add some vintage looking labels to them.

Once we got home we organized the whole pantry (it is the size of a large closet), checking dates on everything, washing down the shelves and getting rid of things that we do not use. I washed and filled the new pantry jars with flour, sugar and coffee and organizing all of the spices. Once the pantry was done, there was no stopping us, lol we started on all of the kitchen cabinets and drawers, organizing everything!! I am a little pooped now and just getting ready to relax. I just love when everything is clean and organized and accomplishing something that needed to be done!

Tomorrow I hope work on my new project...not sure I will have it done but should be really close! Have a great Sunday!!

  1. Doesn't it feel good to organize?! My pantry is okay for now but I have two closets that need it badly! I'll have to check Wally World out for those jars. Could easily be made prim with some great labels.

  3. Your day sounds similar to mine. I had one of those jars, but I dropped mine and broke it :( I need a few more. Can't wait to see how yours turn out after you prim them up.

  5. Oh my gosh, we must be on the same wavelength. I just organized my whole pantry with wonderful things from Walmart and BBB and now I'm working on the basement. The Salvation Army is going to love me next week, and I'm loving how organized everything looks now!

  6. What a wonderful feeling! I know it is time, I have no pantry but my cupboards all need a good cleaning. I have old jars like that. I just ordered labels from Susie at Yankee Lane to put on them. Thanks for the inspiration, perhaps I will get going on mine!
