Ice Storm

Yesterday we had an ice storm. The streets were a sheet of ice. I was so happy to have had the day off to stay home and not have to travel.

Today it feels like Spring with a high of 63 degrees. The weather sure has been goofy this year. I sure wish it would stay warm like this until Summer, lol. Yeah, I know....fat chance of that happening. At least I was out enjoying the warmer weather.

I am going to work on finishing my tutorial and hope to have it up tomorrow along with a new item or two....hopefully! Enjoy the weekend!!

Wishing You & Your Family a Merry Christmas

My husband and I hosted Christmas Eve dinner last night and we had a wonderful time with our family and friends. Dinner was great and just spending time with everyone on the Holiday was so special to us.

Today we are going to straighten up a bit, relax, eat some more, lol and just enjoy the day.

I hope you have a wonderful Holiday with your families!!!

Only Four More Days.....

I cannot believe Christmas will be here in just four more days. I have been so busy getting ready and cannot believe my last post was on December 7th. This year seems to have gone by so fast!

My niece and I spent the day baking some cookies. We made some awesome Oatmeal raisin cookies with chocolate chips and walnuts....one of our favorites and some good old Toll House chocolate chip cookies. Want to know how to get nice and puffy cookies? A friend of mine told me to hand mix the cookie dough and it really works and also gives you a little work out, lol! We still have some brownies and a couple cheese cakes to make.

I am so glad to have a short work week and a long weekend, I could use some time off to relax and to get back to doing what I enjoy....creating! I have been jotting down some new designs and will be getting back to making some patterns.

I am also working on my first tutorial to share with you. I wanted to post it before Christmas but will have to wait until this weekend to finish it.

I will try not to wait so long to post again!

A Time for Giving.....

Along with sharing the Oreo Truffle recipe below, I wanted to share with you my free Santa ornie pattern in my share box. I will be sharing more recipes, patterns, tips and tutorials, so please visit often.

Easy Oreo Truffle Balls

Tis the Season to make scrumptious goodies, lol. My boss made these awesome truffles a week ago and they were so darn good...I just had to share the recipe with you.

1 pkg. (1 lb. 2 oz.) Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, finely crushed, divided
1 pkg. (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, softened
2 pkg. (8 squares each) Baker's Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted

Mix 3 cups of the cookie crumbs and the cream cheese until well blended. Shape into 42 (1-inch) balls. (TIP: use a cookie scoop to measure, then roll them into balls.)

Dip balls in melted chocolate (TIP: Place them in the freezer for 15 minutes before dipping. The best way to dip these is to use a fork. Place the prepared ball on a fork and immerse it in the chocolate; tap the fork against the edges of the bowl lightly to remove the excess chocolate. Invert the truffle onto a baking sheet - more likely than not, the top of the truffle will be slightly exposed since it was the side that was stuck to the fork. Drizzle some melted chocolate over the top and smooth it over. You can top half of your truffles with the oreo cookie crumbs and the other half you can drizzle with white chocolate (approx. 1/2 cup white chocolate chips with 1/2 tsp shortening); place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover melted chocolate can be stored in tightly covered container at room temperature and saved for another use.)

Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Store any leftover truffles in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Yield: 42 Truffles.

Patchy.... my new rescue kitty

This is our new addition to our family. Our neighbors did not want her anymore and could not take care of her so they just let her outside the whole summer. It started getting cold and she stuck around our house and adopted us so we returned the favor and adopted HER! We thought she was a male at first...but she turned out to be our 8lb baby girl who is about 1 year and 2 months old. We took her to the vet and had her all checked out. She is making herself at home and is getting to know her new brother and sister. Patchy and her brother, Boo Boos have had a few little spats but no fur flying, thank God! I think they will eventually get along (at least I hope so!).
She is sure a little sweetie!
